Ataturk Airport in Istanbul is bursting at the seams. Impossible to get on WiFi and hard to navigate the crowds.

About to fly...

At Boston Logan airport waiting to board my Turkish flight to Istanbul. Four hour layover and then on to Kilimanjaro! I said some emotional goodbyes to Deepti, Rishi, Rohan and Arun (by phone). Excitement building now that it is finally happening. Been wanting to climb Kili for a while and now it is about to happen! Selfie at security showing by not so fashionable buzz cut.

Ready, willing and able...

I have been training hard in the gym and hikes in Middlesex Falls and Blue Hills over the past few months. I am nearly packed and getting excited about leaving this Friday to Moshi via Istanbul. Will be climbing with a bunch of Canadians including my old friend Bill Forward to support a Canadian charity CODE (https://code.ngo/program/summit-for-literacy). The preparation was going fine until I learned last weekend that I needed a Yellow Fever vaccine to enter Tanzania. As I discovered the vaccine is in short supply but after a few phone calls got and appointment at St. Elizabeth's and am all set.
